We don’t yet know what’s going on with Moby and his mysterious new
project Moby & The Void Pacific Choir. Last month, he sent out the
tense, cryptic video for a new track called “The Light Is Clear In My Eyes.”
And now he’s done it again. His publicists haven’t really included any
information in the press email for new jam “Almost Loved.” Instead, all
they’ve given us is this quote: “Normally when people refer to a void,
it’s a big, dark, scary, thing – the dark, malicious, Nietzschean void,
where if you stare too long into the it, it stares back into you. But we
like the paradox of a pacific, peaceful void – a benign emptiness.” The
song itself is a driving synth-rocker with a bit of postpunk chilliness
and a howling choir of singers, while the vide is staticy and ominous.
