Damon Albarn wrote the music for wonder.land, a 21st century, Digital Age musical update of Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice In Wonderland. Moira Buffini wrote the script and lyrics and the National Theatre’s Rufus Norris is directing, and the show debuted in Manchester over the summer. We’ve seen one trailer already, and now there’s another, featuring footage filmed during the Manchester run.

Blur’s hybrid documentary-concert film New World Towers will screen for the first time next month in the UK. We’ve already seen the official trailer, and today the band has shared another clip from the movie. In this one, Damon Albarn and Graham Coxon extol the magic of their live performances, of which two will be featured in the film.

Watch The Trailer For Britpop Thriller Kill Your Friends

The definitive Britpop movie will probably always be Trainspotting (with apologies to style-inspiration grandaddy Quadrophenia). But a new black comedy/thriller called Kill Your Friends aims to unseat it. As The Playlist reports, the movie takes place during the high mid-’90s era of the genre, and it stars Nicholas Hoult, from Mad Max: Fury Road and the fun-as-hell British TV show Skins, as a ruthless A&R man on the prowl through the scene. James Corden and Craig Roberts also star, and the TV veteran Owen Harris directed it.

Watch A New Trailer For Arcade Fire’s The Reflektor Tapes

Arcade Fire’s movie The Reflektor Tapes is set to hit theaters on 9/23, and they’ve just shared the first official trailer for the film following a teaser that was released last month. The film, which was directed by Kahlil Joseph and documents the Reflektor tour, will have its world premiere at this year’s Toronto International Film Festival on 9/12. 

“There were parts of the Reflektor tour where I think we, Arcade Fire, came the closest in our careers to putting on stage what we imagined in our heads, the band said in a statement. “We were insanely lucky to have Kahlil Joseph documenting from the very beginning.” You can view a list of which theaters it will be playing at on release day here.

This is the world we live in: First we get a 15-second teaser of a teaser and, now that the teaser is here, it’s only a minute-long and expects you to wait around for the first full-length trailer. Ugh! But when the thing in question is the upcoming ’70s music-themed HBO series Vinyl — executive produced by Martin Scorsese, Mick Jagger, and Boardwalk Empire creator Terence Winter — that anticipation seems worth it. You can’t really tell much about how the series will actually play out, but it sure is exciting to watch — pretty much the epitome of “sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll” in video form.

Preview Mogwai’s Score For BBC’s Nuclear Warfare Documentary Atomic

This weekend, BBC will premiere a new documentary called Atomic – Living In Dread And Promise as part of a special BBC Four Goes Nuclear series centered around the 70th anniversary of Hiroshima. The documentary, which was directed by Mark Cousins, features a score from Mogwai. A new trailer shows off this score, which sounds very appropriate and very end-of-the-world. The documentary airs on BBC2 Scotland on 8/9 and BBC4 on 8/9.

Nate Heller - “Dreamsong” (Feat. Amber Coffman)

The forthcoming movie The Diary Of A Teenage Girl is a coming-of-age period piece set in 1976, and it tells the story of a high school girl who falls in lust with her mother’s boyfriend. Nate Heller, brother of director Marielle Heller, contributed a couple of songs to the soundtrack, and one of those is “Dreamsong,” which features Dirty Projectors singer Amber Coffman and which Consequence Of Sound posted today. After years of yearing Coffman sing tricky, intricate Dave Longstreth songs, it’s fun to hear her doing a straight ahead, vaguely twee folk song.

Netflix appears to be diving completely into the music-documentary pool. We’ve already seen the trailer for the forthcoming Nina Simone doc What Happened, Miss Simone?, and now the service has also put together a doc on the Grateful Dead rhythm guitarist Bob Weir. Judging by its trailer, The Other One: The Long, Strange Trip Of Bob Weir will indulge in the same sorts of Grateful Dead myths that we’ve all read a million times. But I have to admit that I’m curious about the whole “only non-ugly dude in a famously ugly band” angle.

KISS Star In Halloween Scooby-Doo Movie Out This Summer For Some Reason

KISS will be appearing in animated form alongside the Scooby-Doo crew in the new film Scooby-Doo! And KISS: Rock & Roll Mystery. Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, Eric Singer, and Tommy Thayer will all voice themselves, alongside a guest cast that includes Darius Rucker, Kevin Smith, and Jason Mewes. The film will take place at a KISS amusement park called KISS World, where the band will perform a Halloween concert and team up with the detectives to investigate some spooky circumstances that are happening on the park grounds. The film will also feature a new original KISS song made specifically for the movie. Watch a ridiculous trailer for the new film below. 

Watch Kurt Cobain’s Journal Come To Life In Montage Of Heck Clip

Cobain: Montage Of Heck is the long-awaited, painfully intimate documentary about Nirvana’s frontman directed by Brett Morgen and produced by Kurt Cobain’s daughter, Frances Bean. We’ve followed the film’s development since it was announced back in November, and HBO just released a new trailer for the film that shows the visual thought process behind the formulation of the name “Nirvana” via clips from Cobain’s notebooks. To think, Nirvana could have been called: The Mandibles, Cold & Wet, Fecal Matter, Drugs For Sale, Erectum, Syringe, Novocaine, or Rehash.

Beach Boys mastermind Brian Wilson is one of the most legendary figures in music, a guy who wrote and produced dozens of classic songs and helped shape the album as music’s preeminent artistic statement. He’s also a bit of an oddball, which makes him an ideal subject for a Hollywood biopic. Just such a movie is coming to theaters this June. Love & Mercy stars Paul Dano and John Cusack as Wilson; Dano plays the younger Wilson, while Cusack depicts the musician’s older years. Elizabeth Banks and Paul Giamatti have prominent roles, too.

Björk - “Black Lake” Trailer

Working with director Andrew Thomas Huang, Björk has made a short film for “Black Lake,” the soul-ripping 10-minute centerpiece from her emotionally heavy new album Vulnicura. The video is part of Björk’s new Museum Of Modern Art retrospective, where you’ll be able to see it in some sort of immersive 3D experience. I hope a 2D version of it ends up online, though, since this thing looks intense. In a minute-and-a-half trailer that just appeared online, we see Björk lying in what looks like a shallow grave, her body literally halfway torn apart, as some sort of ineffable life force leaks out of it.

The Decemberists - "Make You Better" (Trailer)

During last week’s CMJ busking expedition, Colin Meloy debuted a new Decemberists song called “Make You Better.” A new video teaser the band shared today offers a preview of the studio version, which sounds like the Decemberists at their most Death-Cabbiest. The teaser also confirms a January release date for new album What A Terrible World, What A Beautiful World. The YouTube caption promises “More to come on Monday…” In the meantime, watch the teaser.

Young Ejecta - The Planet (official mini-album trailer)

Last year, Brooklyn-based electronic duo Ejecta released their debut album Dominae, replete with richly intimate and cosmic tracks. The duo consists of Neon Indian’s Leanne Macomber and production team Ford And Lopatin’s Joel Ford, but as we reported last month, they’ve been forced to change their name by a DJ going by Ejecta. Under the modified moniker Young Ejecta, Macomber and Ford will release mini-album The Planet, due out in January.

More than 30 years ago, Afrika Bambaataa’s Arthur Baker-produced “Planet Rock” changed the music industry forever, thanks in part to its use of the revolutionary 808 drum machine. The 808 created a beat no one had ever experienced before, and eventually gave birth to genres such as EDM, synthpop, dubstep, and countless others. Now, Atlantic Films, You Know Films, and Arthur Baker have announced the 2015 release of 808, a documentary telling the story of the seminal machine. The film features commentary and contributions from artists including Pharrell Williams, Afrika Bambaataa, Questlove, Damon Albarn, David Guetta, Phil Collins, Diplo, New Order, and Rick Rubin. It also includes an interview with Roland founder Ikutaro “Mr. K” Kakehashi, who discontinued the 808 in 1983. Baker said of the film, “The making of 808 was a very personal journey for me: being able to reconnect and interview (along with Luke Bainbridge) many of my old DJ/producer friends, while helping get the godfathers of the early scene some overdue acknowledgement.”

PULP : A Film About Life Death & Supermarkets Trailer

It’s easy to get cynical about the recent epidemic of broken-up bands reuniting and getting that festival money, but when the band in question is one like Pulp, the mere possibility of hearing “Common People” performed live tends to overwhelm any of those qualms. And now, those who haven’t gotten a chance to see the reunited band back in action will get an extended, high-quality look at it. When the band got back together a couple of years ago, they kept the camera running, and their new documentary Pulp: A Film About Life, Death & Supermarkets covers the band’s triumphant 2012 hometown show in Sheffield. It looks awesome, and the local-color stuff (a kids’ soccer team with Pulp’s logo on their uniforms!) looks almost as great as the performance footage. The movie debuted at SXSW, and it’ll screen around the UK this summer.

Hooray For Earth - "Racy" (Official Album Trailer)

In anticipation of their new album, Racy, Hooray For Earth have released an album trailer. The trailer features some epic slow-motion footage of Noel Heroux and Co. performing in what looks to be a dank basement. Constantly shifting camera angles give a sense of vertigo while faces caught in the cathartic release of rock and roll exude elation and anticipation.
