Joakim - “This Is My Life” Video + Kindness Remix

Joakim turned 25 this weekend, and to celebrate, he gave us all a gift: a unique look into his day-today via the “This is My Life” video. The video chronicles the French producer’s life through a series of Instagram videos played from his own laptop. Videos flash by as error messages, emails, and update alerts clutter his screen, creating memorizing chaos. A robotic voice narrates the captions of the videos in a detached monotone. When the vocals come in, the video morphs into a montage of Joakim’s face superimposed onto the faces of several movie characters, blending fantasy with true-life events. Joakim is also releasing a This Is My Life EP, which includes a remix by Kindness. The remix adds a funky disco beat to the electronic track, and makes use of subtle but persistent beats to build tension in the song.

David Bowie – “Love Is Lost (James Murphy Remix)” Video Version 2 (NSFW)

We’ve already posted one video for James Murphy’s amazing 10-minute remix of David Bowie’s “Love Is Lost.” That one was a dark, murky, marionette-dominated affair that only used four minutes of the remix. But now that remix has another video, and the new one uses the entire masterful track. The new one, from director Barnaby Jones, starts out as abstract digital shapes, which eventually turn into two naked people making out.

Charli XCX – “SuperLove (Yeasayer Remix)” Video

The Yeasayer remix of “SuperLove” was a woozy and psychedelic take on Charli XCX’s most recent single and now you can watch the video for it. It’s a darker video than the original’s robot-dancing, candy-colored explosion of good vibes. It’s just Charli in a wide open studio, but it fits the remix just right.

Passion Pit – “Carried Away (Tiësto Remix)”

The cheesed-out trance-master and ridiculously well-paid human being Tiësto recently worked his magic on Passion Pit’s gleaming Gossamer gem “Carried Away,” and you can probably guess what the result sounds like before you hit play. One thing you cannot guess, however, is the way this ridiculous and pretty-great music video plays out. It tells the story of a cool new drug — one that, when ingested, causes the user to explode, Jamie Madrox-style, into multiple clones of herself. Some special-effects wizards had fun with this one.
