Hear Another Preview Of Eminem’s “Phenomenal” In Draymond Green Beats Commercial

Eminem seems to have settled comfortably into the habit of debuting new music via commercial. He used a Beats by Dre commercial to announce his return in 2013, and he recently debuted a new song in a trailer for the Jake Gyllenhaal-starring boxing movie Southpaw. Today, he’s returned to the Beats format, sharing a clip of “Phenomenal” in another Beats ad that features Draymond Green of the Golden State Warriors.

Diddy’s New NSFW Cologne Ad Is Basically Diddy Having Sex With Cassie

Diddy is getting back into the celebrity fragrance game after a six year absence. His new scent, called 3AM, will debut in a few days at Macy’s flagship store in Herald Square, and he’s marking its arrival with a NSFW advertisement directed by music video king Nabil. It features him and his longtime girlfriend Cassie living it up that’s meant to evoke the time of night the fragrance is named after. “It’s a time to have fun and push the envelope a little bit. It’s definitely an hour where you would find yourself with a young lady,” he told Style. “Anything can happen at 3 a.m., and in the video, you see a fantasy that’s in my head of what happened that night.” Later, he added: “That whole interaction has nothing to do with sex as much as it has to do with love. My concept is that love is the new sexy.” Watch the ad below and judge for yourself.

Taylor Swift’s Chinese Toyota Commercials Are Awkward Beyond Your “Wildest Dreams”

Taylor Swift took the best song off 1989 and turned it into a Toyota commercial, joining the long legacy of American celebrities appearing in foreign TV spots they’d never agree to stateside. The ad uses “Wildest Dreams” to promote Toyota’s newest hybrid car in the Chinese market. There’s two versions of the ad, but both involve Taylor in gorgeous ball gowns — “standing in a nice dress,” per the song’s lyrics — ushering in the new vehicles. The first commercial uses the song in its original album version, but the second opts for a stripped back piano take. Plenty of people have dubbed “Wildest Dreams” Swift’s attempt at making a Lana Del Rey song, but the piano version kind of disproves that idea to my ear. Obviously, Swift is more than comfortable pairing with various brands; she’s already a rep for both Keds and Diet Coke, and another 1989 favorite “Style” first debuted in a Target commercial. This is also not the first time Taylor has teamed with Toyota. And as far as the Chinese car commercial route, Swift is merely following in ex-boyfriend Harry Styles’ footsteps.

Devonté Hynes & Neneh Cherry - “He, She, Me”

Devonté Hynes and Neneh Cherry were commissioned by Selfridges — a high-end UK department store — to write a new song called “He, She, Me” to soundtrack an original film that was directed by Alex Turvey and Kathryn Ferguson. “The film is an evolving journey through a subtle push and pull between masculinity and femininity, captured entirely in one unbroken shot, utilising in-camera camera effects in a world populated by out-scaled physical props inspired by Faye Toogood’s in store realisation of Agender,” the directors explained in a press release. “This film has come at a time when important conversations about gender fluidity and non-binary ways of being are finally getting a lot of attention.”

Watch Kendrick Lamar’s Cinematic Reebok Ad

You know a rapper has reached a rarefied level of fame when a goddam sneaker company is enlisting him for a commercial. It’s not exactly a surprise that Kendrick Lamar is a star on the rise, but it’s still striking to see Reebok devote considerable resources to a three-minute ad starring the guy. Music-video director Anthony Mandler helmed the black-and-white ad, which shows Kendrick skulking through his Compton hometown and generally looking as iconic as possible. In the video, he recites a feverish a cappella verse. As far as I can tell, it’s unreleased, though I’m pretty sure I’ve seen him do it as a live freestyle or something like that.

Watch Chanel’s “Reincarnation” Short Starring Pharrell & Cara Delevingne

Pharrell is everywhere now, so why not opposite supermodel Cara Delevingne in a Chanel short film by Karl Lagerfeld? “Reincarnation” features the superstar duo dancing in an old-fashioned ballroom dressed up in splendorous formal attire. They also sing a very pretty duet that matches ancient pop stylings with a slick modern beat. Géraldine Chaplin also makes an appearance. The whole thing smacks of high-fashion beauty, as you’d expect from such a production.

Kurt Cobain, Tupac, John Lennon Are Still Alive And Shilling For Dutch Beer In This Bad Commercial

Conspiracy theorists have long speculated that dead celebrities like Elvis Presley and Tupac Shakur are actually alive and well — living in luxury on a secluded desert isle, perhaps? And while such ideas might play as harmless whimsical fantasy in a vacuum, recreating them in service of selling beer seems more than a little crass — particularly when some of the celebs were so actively trying not to sell out, and especially if the execution is less than stellar. Alas, Bavaria Radler learned nothing from the great Doc Martens debacle of ’07. The Dutch beer company’s new spot depicts Elvis, Tupac, Marilyn Monroe, Bruce Lee, John Lennon, and Kurt Cobain alive, well, and enjoying many delicious swigs of Bavaria together on a deserted island somewhere. Marilyn rubs suntan lotion on Pac’s stomach. Lee uses martial arts to knock down a tree and shield himself from a passing ship. Lennon — who barely even looks like Lennon, let’s be honest — greets the bartender as Jude, as if he would ever pay tribute to one of Paul’s sentimental anthems with a straight face. Altogether it’s a mess that does dishonor to all involved, so hatewatch it below and save your heartiest ridicule for the comments section.

Watch Bob Dylan's Super Bowl Commercial for Chrysler (Extended Cut)

A great many Super Bowl viewers were shocked to see Bob Dylan in a Chrysler commercial last night, but they really shouldn't have been. This was far from his first appearance in a televised ad, and it wasn't even the only time his music was heard in one last night (his 1966 classic "I Want You" appeared in a commercial for Chobani yogurt).

Back in 1965, a reporter at a San Francisco press conference asked Dylan what product he'd ever think about endorsing. The singer promptly responded with two words: "women's garments." It got a good laugh, but 39 years later he fulfilled that prophecy when he appeared alongside model Adriana Lima in an ad for Victoria's Secret. "Was I not supposed to do that?" he snapped at Rolling Stone the following year. "I wish I had seen it. Maybe I'd have something to say about it. I don't see that kind of stuff. That's for other people to see and make up what they will."

The 2004 Victoria's Secret ad – which used his 1997 song "Love Sick" — was Dylan's first physical appearance in a commercial, though back in the 1990s Richie Havens' cover of "The Times They Are A'Changin'" was used in an ad for a Canadian bank. Around that same time, Apple used a 1963 photo of Dylan in their "Think Different" ad campaign.

Last night's Chrysler ad wasn't even Dylan's first appearance in a car commercial. In 2007, he appeared in an ad for the Cadillac Escalade, and was even shown driving the sport utility vehicle. That angered many people, but it's hard to imagine that Dylan cared one bit. If anything, the negative feedback probably only encouraged him to do another one.

Bob Dylan Hooks Up With Chobani & Chrysler For Super Bowl Ads

You wouldn’t think Bob Dylan was hurting for either money or attention, but he’ll get plenty this Sunday when he’s prominently featured in two different Super Bowl ads. Billboard reports that Dylan is set to star in a Chrysler commercial, the latest in a series of Super Bowl ads that has featured Eminem, Clint Eastwood, and Berry Gordy. (Dylan has a fraught history with motor vehicles, but his music has turned up in plenty of car commercials over the years, including one for Chrysler’s Jeep Cherokee.) Meanwhile, Dylan’s 1966 Blonde On Blonde single “I Want You” is in a Chobani yogurt Super Bowl ad that’s already on the internet, and you can watch that one below. It has a bear in it.

Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Commercial With Lionel Messi (Watch Kids Sing Lorde’s “Royals”)

This is where I’d say “Lorde, Lorde!” if the “e” wasn’t silent. Lorde’s “Royals” has been just about everywhere lately, and now we’ve officially moved on to the Kidz Bop version. Well, not quite — kids do sing the song in this video, but it’s a Samsung Galaxy Note 3 commercial starring four-time defending FIFA Player of the Year Lionel Messi. No sign of the New Zealand teen queen, though. Here’s the plot:
A mysterious stranger arrives in a low income neighborhood and captures the imaginations of the children who live there. He is “The Developer” and the children view him with a deep suspicion.
I wanted to hate this, but both the kids and Messi are so irrepressibly charming that I couldn’t help grinning, and the kids do the song justice. It does have a certain nursery rhyme quality to it.

David Bowie - "Sound And Vision 2013" Official Lyric Video & Xperia Z TV Ad

Earlier this year, Sony used a new remix of David Bowie’s “Sound And Vision,” from his 1977 undisputed-classic album Low, in an ad for their new Xperia Z smartphone. Remixer Sonjay Prabhakar reworked the song from its original tapes, stripping it down to nothing more than voice and piano. And enough people liked the ad that an extended (though still less than two-minute) version of the remix is out on the internet now. It’s weird hearing Berlin-era Bowie get the unplugged treatment, since the prophetic use of studio-sound was a huge part of what made those records important. But “Sound And Vision” is a song with a certain uncanny power, and it loses none of it in this context. Listen to the extended remix and watch the ad below.

Watch Lana Del Rey Cover “Blue Velvet” For H&M

Watch: Lana Del Rey Covers "Blue Velvet" in New David Lynch-Inspired H&M Commercial

Lana Del Rey has covered the classic 1950s pop song "Blue Velvet", penned by Bernie Wayne and Lee Morris, for her new campaign for the clothing chain H&M, as Stereogum notes. "Blue Velvet" was famously performed by Isabella Rossellini in the 1986 David Lynch film of the same name.
