The Killers - “Dirt Sledding” (Official Video)

The Killers’ annual Christmas single (and music video) has now arrived. The “Dirt Sledding” video is the third in a trilogy with 2007’s “Don’t Shoot Me Santa” and 2012’s “I Feel It In My Bones” starring former Killers tour manager Ryan Pardey as a deranged Santa trying to murder Brandon Flowers. Except in this one, they seem to make peace! The power of Christmas! Other holiday mascots including a Halloween pumpkin, a Thanksgiving turkey/pilgrim, the Easter bunny, and…the tooth fairy(?) are also there, and actor Richard Dreyfuss shows up for a few lines in the song. Matthew Gray Gubler directs, and you can watch here.

The Darkness - “I Am Santa” (Official Video)

‘Tis the season! The Darkness already had one very successful holiday track with “Christmas Time (Don’t Let The Bells End)” when their debut sensation was released back in 2003, but they’re giving it another go in their post-comeback era with “I Am Santa,” a ridiculous song with an equally ridiculous music video. They straightened out a little bit with their most recent record, Last Of Our Kind, but they still know how to give into the glam better than most, and they retreat back to old habits for this. Of course, it’s catchy and a lot of fun — watch via Noisey.

Watch The National Make Melancholy “Christmas Magic” For Bob’s Burgers

I have a hard time thinking of a band that makes me sadder than the National, which means that I can’t think of a band less equipped to write a Christmas jingle. Bob’s Burgers has hosted the band several times in the past, featuring them on two Thanksgiving specials singing dour songs about turkey murder and gravy boats. There is something deeply humorous about watching an animated Matt Beringer sing the moody “Christmas Magic” while hanging from a Christmas tree dressed like an elf.

The Killers & Jimmy Kimmel - “Joel, The Lump of Coal” (Official Video)

The Killers have a tradition of releasing a charity Christmas single every year, and this year, they reached out to fellow Las Vegas native Jimmy Kimmel to help out. In the video below, we see the fruits of their collaborative songwriting session. The members of the Killers are no threat to host SNL anytime soon, but they play serviceable enough straight men for an on-fire Kimmel, who is really good in these situations. And the song that Kimmel supposedly helped to write is “Joel, The Lump Of Coal,” a sentimental novelty tune about a lump that doesn’t want to be a bad kid’s present. (Kimmel doesn’t sing on it or anything; don’t worry.) Below, watch the Kimmel sketch that leads up to the “Joel, The Lump Of Coal” video.

She & Him – “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” (Official Music Video)

She & Him have released a video for their rendition of “Baby, It’s Cold Outside,” which is off their Christmas album A Very She & Him Christmas.

The video for the classic duet features an animated Zooey Deschanel doing everything in her power to keep M. Ward (who is also animated) from leaving a cabin in a wintery field. Veering away from the original, She & Him’s rendition has switched the traditional female vocal with the male’s creating a modern twist on this holiday classic. Director: Elliot Dear.

The Killers – “I Feel It In My Bones” Video

The Killers have made an exceedingly, commendably goofy mini-tradition out of releasing Christmas songs, and we posted their latest, the mock-horror Santa story “I Feel It In My Bones,” yesterday. And now here’s the video, in which Santa is reinvisioned as a terrifying vengeful biker. Director Roboshobo has a whole hell of a lot of fun with early-MTV lighting and fog machines.

Watch Sufjan Stevens' Stop-Motion Lego Video for Christmas Song

After teasing a new Christmas album (which may or may not feature Kitty Pryde), Sufjan Stevens has posted a stop-motion Lego video on his website with a Christmas song. The video was made back in 2007 but posted on YouTube earlier today. The main lyrics are "I am Santa's helper," and, "You are Santa's slave."

This isn't Stevens' first stop-motion video-- he animated the video for "Get Real Get Right" from The Age of Adz.

Watch Fucked Up Play "Jingle Bells" on Anthony Bourdain's Holiday Special

Rounding out the wacky pack of guests on last night's "Anthony Bourdain: No Reservations" holiday special was none other than Fucked Up. Unfortunately, we didn't get to see the band talk food with Bourdain (the same thing happened when Das Racist appeared on the show last year), but MTV Hive points to their very Fucked Up version of "Jingle Bells".

Also, in one deeply inexplicable moment, the show featured a short animation with Norah Jones singing a Catalan kids’ song about shitting.

The Raveonettes - The Christmas Song

The Raveonettes - The Christmas Song

Written and recorded during the Whip It On sessions in 2001 in Copenhagen, The Raveonettes' Christmas Song was never intended for release. It eventually ended up as a B-side to their Heartbreak stroll single and quickly became the bands biggest selling song to date. The video was recorded in Sune's NYC apartment. According to the band there was supposed to be a guy dressed up as a homeless Santa but he never made it.
