N.E.R.D. has gotten back together to contribute a few original songs to the soundtrack for the upcoming film Spongebob Movie: Sponge Out Of Water. We’ve already heard “Squeeze Me,” and now here are two unmistakably Spongebob-inspired tracks called “Patrick Star” and “Sandy Squirrel,” named after two characters from the show. They’re pretty disposable as N.E.R.D. tracks, but kind of fun if you have kids or are really into Spongebob. “If you want to draw a parallel, maybe think of what the Beatles did with Yellow Submarine,” is how Chad Hugo explained the soundtrack to Variety.

The movie adaptation of the novel Fifty Shades Of Grey comes out on Valentine’s Day, and the Weeknd contributed the song “Earned It (Fifty Shades Of Grey)” to its soundtrack, which might be the most on-the-nose thing Abel Tesfaye has ever done. The very NSFW new “Earned It” music video has that same chilly porn-at-a-remove aesthetic that the movie seems to have. It has Tesfaye singing in an empty theater as a troupe of nearly-identical burlesque dancers put on a show behind him. It also has Fifty Shades star Dakota Johnson — Don’s daughter! — stripped and tied up. Somehow, despite dripping with all these sex signifiers, the video comes across way more mechanical than sexy. Maybe that’s the point? Either way, you can watch it below.

Tegan And Sara (Feat. The Lonely Island) - “Everything Is AWESOME!!!” The LEGO® Movie (Official Video)

Tegan And Sara’s ridiculous collaboration with the Lonely Island for The Lego Movie now has an even more ridiculous video that is still somehow incredibly endearing. It’s hard not to crack a smile watching Legos getting chased by Lego-gators or being dipped in chocolate frosting. The artists themselves only show up in Lego form, but it’s still good fun.

Soundgarden - Live to Rise (From Marvel's THE AVENGERS) - Official Video

Music video by Soundgarden performing Live to Rise (Avengers). “Live To Rise” is the first new Soundgarden studio song in a decade and a half, and it shows up on the soundtrack to The Avengers. So you’d hope that the video would feature Kim Thayil fighting Loki or whatever. Alas, the clip goes the time-honored route of showing the band playing in an airplane hanger, interspersed with footage from the movie that you’ve already seen in the trailers. There is a moment where some sort of glowing wormhole opens up behind the band, but not much comes of it.

Feist - How Come You Never Go There

Feist has revealed her new video for “How Come You Never Go There”, and either she went halfsies with The Twilight on a film shoot or we now have two music videos, shot in black and white, featuring performances in the middle of the woods. For comparison’s sake, we have both videos (The Twilight Sad’s clip is for their new song “Sick”).

The National - Exile, Vilify

The National’s latest slice of sublime mopery, titled “Exile, Vilify,” came as a soundtrack to the video game Portal 2. Developers Valve Software held a fan-video contest to come up on an official clip for the track, and the National sat as judges, picking the 1st and “1.00000000001th” place videos. Prepare for sock puppets and dour animations:

Count the 80′s references in this music video for (a cover of) “Don’t You Want Me” by Atomic Tom. I find all retro to be a symptom of a weak willed and lost culture. But I’m not here to rain on parades, it is a fun video after all.
