MØ debuted her latest Diplo collaboration, “Kamikaze,”
earlier this month, and today she’s shared a video for the track. Karen
Marie Ørsted’s visuals have always been particularly well-attuned — see
the great ones for “Walk This Way,” “Don’t Wanna Dance,” and “XXX 88”
— and this one’s no different: It was shot in Kiev by directing duo
Truman & Cooper, and features a lot of dancing (and some fighting)
in a dirt lot, eye-catching fashion choices, and a raucous adventure out
into the city. As always, MØ gives a badass performance.
“‘Kamikaze’ is a happy party song, but at the same time also about
being lost and restless,” MØ said in a press release. “What I really
like about this video is that it embraces both those aspects: the party
vibe — the friendships and the happiness — but also the darkness, the
craziness, and the doom. And it’s not just the song that has that
duality, it’s very much who I am.”
