Andrew Bird - “The Fake Headlines” (New Pornographers Cover) Video

For the new bands-covering-other-bands benefit compilation Good People Rock, Andrew Bird has recorded a stripped-back, countrified version of the New Pornographers’ 2000 power-pop sugar rush “Fake Headlines.” And now directors Luke McCutcheon and Michael Yablonski have made a glowing magic-realist video for that cover. The clip tells the story of a marionette puppet who tries to come alive, and it is equal parts sweet and creepy.
