The Manhattan-based rock band Public Access T.V. recently lost their home
to the fire that destroyed several buildings in the East Village last
month while they were touring the West Coast, which makes their single “Metropolis”
sound more relevant than ever. The song is an homage to New York and a
rejection of the ever-present band fantasy of moving to L.A. in order to
take it easy. “And I don’t wanna live in California/ I’d take New York
any day,” frontman John Eatherly sings in his pointed drawl.
“Metropolis” will be on Public Access T.V.’s forthcoming debut EP, which
is slated to be released next month. Watch the band perform the song in
the stylized Jason Miller-directed studio video.
