Meek Mill’s new album Dreams Worth More Than Money is racking up critical praise right and left — including our own blessing in Status Ain’t Hood last week. Following a stint in jail, Meek rejoined society and bossed
up his social status; following weeks of rumors, he’s now publicly
dating fellow rapper Nicki Minaj. Their relationship has put him in the
same room — or more importantly the same photo frame — as Beyoncé and
Jay Z in recent weeks. His album, too, is littered with A-listers like
Drake, the Weeknd, Minaj, Diddy, Jeremih, and of course, rap’s most
ubiquitous force, Future. The video for Meek and Future’s brief
collaboration “Jump Out The Face” plays with the cop crime board trope,
connecting the rappers to two of Future’s go-to Atlanta producers, Metro
Boomin and Southside, who also produced the track. Of course, when the
cops show up, they’re in for a surprise. It’s nice that music videos get
to have happier, easier endings than reality does.
