Lambchop have been making orchestral, soul-flavored Americana for decades, so it’s a bit of a surprise that three band members, including frontman Kurt Wagner, have now formed a disco-house side project called HeCTA. But it’s happening, and we’ve already posted the shockingly strong first single “Till Someone Gets Hurt.” “The Concept” is another track from the group’s forthcoming album The Diet. It samples an old Buddy Hackett comedy 78 that Wagner bought when he was a kid, and its new video uses surreal old-timey animation to tell the story about a man who goes through romantic frustrations that turn him into a monster.
