Waxahatchee’s ridiculously good third album Ivy Tripp (Stream) arrives on Tuesday, and today, she’s given us her video for the song “Under A Rock.”
It’s an absolutely pissed-off song, but the video doesn’t reflect that
at all. Instead, Katie Crutchfield recorded it at the Golden Tea House, a
now-defunct Philly DIY venue. We see her playing with her band (which
now includes her twin sister, the Swearin’ leader Allison) and
surrounded by friends. It’s a video about community. Eddie Austin and Perry Shall directed it, and they used murky lo-fi digital cameras that make it feel even more homemade.
