Wyles & Simpson are an English electronic duo made up of Abigail Wyles and Holly Simpson. Late last year they released “Light And Dark” as an introduction to their sound, which fuses soul and funk nostalgia with fresher, electronic production. “Stormy Skies” is the second single from their debut album of the same name, and today we’re premiering the Kim Taylor-directed video. The song itself showcases huge choral arrangements and clipped, sporadic percussion, and the video drifts through images of rain and kaleidoscopic reflections, encompassing the dichotomy the two seek to portray in their work. “Our desire was for the video to be an honest portrayal of us,” they said of the video. “Our music and to depict the balance of melancholy and euphoria, which is central to ’Stormy Skies.’”
