Watch FKA Twigs Cover Sia’s “Elastic Heart”

FKA twigs and Sia both play around with ideas of pop stardom and femininity and representation. But they do it in vastly different ways and exist in entirely different pop-cultural spheres. So it was a bit of a surprise to see twigs, during a recent visit to the BBC’s Live Lounge, opting to cover Sia’s recent single “Elastic Heart.” She truly made it hers, though. She and her band reworked the song, turning it into a subtly percolating thing. And twigs is also the first person I’ve ever seen bring a backup dancer and choreography into the Live Lounge’s whole live-in-studio setup. As always, twigs is an absolutely bewitching performer to behold.
