Reigning PC Music pop princess Hannah Diamond just debuted a new track called “Hi” with an appropriately glossy music video. It starts off with Diamond looking longingly out of her bedroom window, autographing her own name and dreaming of fame. She takes selfies and broadcasts cam footage of herself. Suddenly, she’s in a photo shoot and facing the bright lights and cameras of celebrity. “I don’t wanna be alone in my bedroom writing messages you won’t read,” her characteristically dreamy vocals go. “I don’t wanna be alone in my bedroom on the internet, waiting to say … hi.” Did Diamond just snatch the crown away from Adele for this year’s best pop song named after a greeting?
