Cheatahs - "Murasaki" [Official Video]

“Murasaki,” the methodically fiery opening song and title track from Cheatahs’ latest EP, was inspired by Japanese author Murasaki Shikibu’s undefinable 11th century epic The Tale Of Genji. I can’t say if the video — which features a suavely dressed man and woman playing out what seems like an upscale party or high-stakes crime drama before descending into minimalistic surrealism — is also inspired by Murasaki’s story. But I can tell you that it’s as arresting as the song itself, and you should watch.
