Big Noble is the collaboration between Interpol’s Daniel Kessler and sound designer Joseph Fraioli. Their debut album First Light is out now, and today they’ve released the video for “Atlantic Din.” Like the first two videos — “Peg” and “Ocean Picture”
— the visuals take familiar shots and stretch them out into longer,
looming landscapes. Somehow the focus on these slow-moving images gives
the music a greater sense of purpose, an increased air of mystery.
Director Ben Hughes said
the video is “an elliptical tale of madness, wanderlust, saints and
ghosts, shot in New York City, Buffalo and the Mayan Riviera.”
