Over the summer, the young Houston rapper/producer/Kanye understudy Travi$ Scott released his Days Before Rodeo
mixtape, and one of its tracks, “Mamacita,” enlisted the hyperactive
Atlanta rap superfriends Young Thug and Rich Homie Quan. Though all
three of these guys have made a lot of great rap music, the song got
over less because of the rapping and more because of the apocalyptic
atmosphere. In the song’s very good new video, they all go heavy on that
atmosphere. The video has zombie ladies, Hannibal Lecter masks, old
thrash metal T-shirts, and a sense of suffocating bizarreness that
permeates everything. It also has at least one hall-of-fame shit-eating
grin from T.I. It’s NSFW-ish for body-paint-related reasons, so proceed
with caution.
