Today, Mary J. Blige released a video for The London Sessions
single “Whole Damn Year” directed by Mike Ho and Alex Moors. Blige is
well-known for confronting issues of social injustice and violence in
her work, and this video is no exception. Although they’re beautifully
shot and edited, the story lines found in the video for “Whole Damn
Year” are difficult to stomach — domestic disputes that escalate into
violence before concluding in tearful apologies. Watch, but
consider this a trigger warning for victims of domestic violence.
