L.A. noise rap trio clipping. have once again teamed up with director
Carlos Lopez Estrada, who also did the memorable videos for “Work Work” and “Inside Out.”
Their next partnership isn’t as flashy as either of those, but the
video for “Get Up” is just as unsettling: with a minimalism and
restraint that echoes their music, the camera stays on rapper Daveed
Diggs the whole time. We follow him in the last moments of his life as
blood slowly pools on his white shirt — alternating between dark red and
bright light, we can see Diggs quivering in fear. It’s a quietly
disturbing video, and very effective.
