The Montreal band Young Galaxy makes sparkling, straightforward synthpop, but
the two videos they’ve released for tracks from their new album
Ultramarine are both weird as fuck. Their “Pretty Boy” video was a love story about two people in unbelievably creepy masks.
And their new all-CGI clip for the tropical throb “Fall For
You” shows us alternate-universe science experiments where music makes
wavforms ripple, cacti dance, and singing polygonal faces appear from thin air.
