“Bitch,
Don’t Kill My Vibe” may have been the most instantly iconic song on the
young rap god Kendrick Lamar’s masterful 2012 album Good
Kid, m.A.A.d. City, but it’s only now getting a video. The first time
you see it, the clip is both beautiful and confounding — Kendrick and his
associates, dressed all in white, attending a funeral that doubles as a raucous
party. As it turns out, though, there’s a punchline, one I won’t give away. I
laughed. You might, too. Kendrick’s Black Hippy confederates make cameos, as do
Juicy J and the comedian Mike Epps.
