“Octahate,”
the song that made pan-genre pop singer Ryn Weaver an overnight
sensation, now has a video. Directed by Goodwin from a treatment
co-written by Weaver, it features the Artist To Watch
in various states of poise and duress wearing a wide range of elaborate
outfits. Rotary phones, bows and arrows, spooky faceless men, and much
more populate this particular wonderland. Also in the mix is a young
girl who seems to represent a younger Weaver or her inner child. There’s
a lot to parse here; the video is every bit as wildly colorful as the
song itself.
