We recently learned the sad news
that AC/DC co-founder Malcolm Young, who left the band earlier this
year, is being treated for dementia. But that news came with a silver
lining: There’s a new AC/DC album coming out.
Rock Or Bust is the band’s first since their bafflingly successful 2008 effort
Black Ice,
and given that AC/DC didn’t turn maudlin after Bon Scott died, they
aren’t going to get thoughtful now, with Young ailing. “Play Ball,” the
first single from
Rock Or Bust is a big and dumb and simplistic
and awesome anthem. Given this band’s history, it’s almost miraculous
that the song is not about testicles. A chunk of the song was already
airing as part of the Major League Baseball playoff promotional push (go
Orioles), but you can hear a radio rip of the whole thing below.
