A little while back, the dubbed-out electronic pop duo announced the release of their new album Cosmic Logic by sharing first single “Breakdown,”
a drifting, deadpan, approachable number about leaving the world
behind. That song’s brand-new video expands on those themes, telling the
story of a lady who lives with a gigantic anthropomorphic smartphone
that keeps fucking up her life. Eugene Kotlyarenko
directed the video, which works as an obvious extended metaphor about
the way technology butts into our lives more and more, and Peaking
Lights themselves make a cameo.
