A few weeks ago, Ariel Pink teamed up with Jorge Elbrecht, the luxe
indie-pop auteur behind projects like Lansing-Dreiden and Violens, to
release the weirdly smooth single “Hang On To Life” . Today, the song gets a video, which Elbrecht directed with Alejandro Cardenas,
and it’s mostly made up of soft-focus shots of Pink and Elbrecht
looking elegantly disheveled. There’s also some slow-motion footage of a
yellow lab shaking water off, just to make the “you screwed the pooch”
lyric uncomfortably literal.
