Johnny Marr – “New Town Velocity”

Earlier this year, the former Smiths axemaster Johnny Marr released The Messenger, his first-ever full-on solo album, and the florid rocker “New Town Velocity’ was one of its highlights. In the song’s new black-and-white video, Marr wanders through the stark architecture of the Manchester housing project where he grew up, which is sort of like when Nas heads back to Queensbridge for photo shoots.
