It seems pretty safe to say that we all hate Chris Brown around here, so maybe it’s lame to post anything associated with him in any way. But the man did make the rap song of the year, so we’re going to have to contend with him for a while, like it or not. Like plenty of other loathsome people in the past, Brown has been a part of some really good songs lately, and “Yoko” is one of those. Actually, the track was floating around for a while sans Brown before Breezy threw a verse on it and included it on his latest mixtape. Breezy’s verse is pretty whatever (he’s feeding eskimos?), but the song is really all about Big K.R.I.T.’s early-’00s-style quasi-Eastern beat and his slick singsong verse anyway. The song has a video now, and it’s good in a low-budget rap video sort of way. Lots of cars do donuts, and director Tha Razor has the good sense to film everything on grainy ’70s B-movie stock.
