The video for “I Follow Rivers,” the second single from Lykke Li’s Wounded Rhymes and the one remixed by Jane’s Addiction’s Dave Sitek, sticks close to the lyrics. Lykke Li literally follows, chases, pursues her lover to the water’s edge. And the video has the same overtones of fatalism, strength and sacrifice as many of her songs — when she can’t follow fast enough she kicks off her shoes and runs barefoot through the snow. She also looks fantastic here, all eyeliner and flowing black fabric. It’s probably part of the reason why the clip debuted on the stylish Dazed & Confused website. The video was directed by Tarik Saleh.
