Directed by Dominic DeJoseph. Mine Smell Like Honey is the US single from R.E.M.'s upcoming record "Collapse Into Now", out March 7/8th worldwide.
R.E.M. are back in a month (March 7th) with their fifteenth studio album 'Collapse Into Now', a Jacknife Lee-produced effort that was recorded in Berlin, Nashville and New Orleans. It's a collaborator-packed affair, with Eddie Vedder, Peaches, Patti Smith and Lenny Kaye among the guests.
According to Spin, the band wanted to create a "more expansive" album after 2008's finely-tuned 'Accelerate', although this first track out the traps is a pretty concise and raucous affair, packing in a classic harmonised R.E.M. chorus. What, exactly, smell like honey though we can only guess. Here's Michael Stipe getting rolled up a staircase.
What do you think of the track and video?
'Mine Smell Like Honey' is taken from the forthcoming LP 'Collapse Into Now'. Both are released on March 7th, with the single backed by another album track 'Überlin'.
