AKQA San Francisco asked PostPanic to help create a unique 10th anniversary thank you film to more than 1 million Google AdWords clients worldwide. The agency's idea was to individually address each of the clients by incorporating their company name in the film visuals. PostPanic took on the challenge of creating the main film which would then be handed over complete to Google's customization agency for clients' name integration. Director Mischa Rozema developed AKQA's script to include a fictitious Google research department trying out ambitious experiments to feature each advertiser. A combination of live action and vfx, the footage was filmed by PostPanic in around Google HDQ in California, before being brought back for post in Amsterdam.

A film by Peculiar Pictures Description taken from their website: A story of outstanding heroism in the face of deception, subterfuge and treachery. Conjuring up the belief that it was made forty years before film was even invented, 1884: Yesterdays Future tells of a future that might have been but never was. Directed by Tim Ollive, the film is a mix of animation, puppetry and two dimensional and three dimensional computer generated imagery (CGI) set against backgrounds created using stunning artwork, model sets and period photographs from the Hulton Picture Library division of Getty Images. Combine these idiosyncratic production techniques with a script of mind boggling ingenuity and you have a hilarious comedy film the like of which you will not have seen before. So, put your tongue firmly in your cheek, stiffen your upper lip and prepare to be shaken and stirred by 1884: Yesterdays Future.

Here's an exclusive first look at Miles Kane's new music video for his current single 'Come Closer' (out on February 21st). The track is from his debut solo album, set for release in April 2011.
According to Miles, this song is "a good first proper single, because it has all the elements. A bit sexy, a bit sleazy, and with cool guitars." Well, he certainly played up the sexy bit thanks to his friend, the sultry Daisy Lowe, as a hypnotic dancing girl.

Helios is a short movie by Juan Behrens about Galileo’s discovery and how it's altered the way humans perceive themselves in the cosmos
“Galileo was not the first person to invent the telescope but was the first to turn one toward the night sky“
During the 17th century, the Roman Catholic church believed that the earth was the center of the universe and people who tried to prove them wrong were in danger of being accused of heresy. Helios is the story of how an idea found his innovator, triggering a series of consequences in time. The date is 1609, Italy, late night at Galileo Galilei’s workplace watching the sky, studying celestial bodies focusing on the moon. He prepares to see this unexplored world with his customized telescope while some of his sketches and notes rest on the floor. After a gentle approach to the telescope, he sees the moon through it, a celestial body full of enigmas and intriguing for any human eye. After a moment, a bright light invades his scene but he does not notice it. This light resembles the silhouette of the invention, this enigmatic form splits into three muses.
These three muses approach Galileo and start touching his back, rest next to him and point to the sky. Galileo start watching the moon different, he start spotting data out from the moon he did not see before, now he seems to understand how the moon works and why. He draws what he sees, prepares himself to present this to the cardinal Bellarmine at the church proving that the earth is not the center of the universe but orbits around the sun just like the moon around the earth.
Galileo’s discovery fundamentally alters the way humans perceive themselves in the cosmos. Visually, the scene transition to schematic graphs that represent each belief, they merge and present a montage of the inventions that resulted from this epiphany.

After months of rumors, hype, teasers, and bogus leaks, Daft Punk have finally released something from the Tron: Legacy soundtrack that we can sink our teeth into: the epic, neon-soaked, über-futuristic video for "Derezzed." Check it out below!
The video is a perfect synthesis of the original Tron's old school, eight-bit sensibility and the sequel's cutting edge 3-D technologies. "Derezzed" kicks off with Daft Punk's Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo and Thomas Bangalter (in a rare filmed appearance) strolling into Flynn's Arcade (which figures in the original movie) and firing up a dusty Derezzed video game console. Daft Punk then assume the roles of the movie's main characters (played by Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde in the new film) and engage in a fierce jousting battle atop the movie's iconic light-cycles. Hot!

Lars Larsen is an electronics designer and multimedia artist in Austin, Texas. Larsen's work focuses on synergistic relationships between technology and subject, and the resurrection of forgotten pre-Computer Age technologies. Over the past few years, he and partner Edward Leckie of Sydney, Australia have been developing an analogue video synthesizer called the LZX Visionary in the tradition of esoteric video art tools used in the 1970's. The LZX Visionary manipulates and creates images in the same way a normal synthesizer does for sounds. Mind Drips is the first music video to utilize this unique synthesizer, and all of its visual effects are recorded in real-time using techniques such as abstract pattern synthesis, video feedback, and analog compositing.

The second teaser for Iron Sky - the upcoming scifi comedy from the creators of Star Wreck. The teaser contains footage you will see in the finished film.
The film Iron Sky has been in development for years. It’s a Finnish-German-Australian sci-fi parody involving Nazis -a premise that cannot fail!
Towards the end of World War II the Nazi scientists made a significant breakthrough in anti-gravity. From a secret base built in the Antarctic, the first Nazi spaceships were launched in late ‘45 to found the military base Schwarze Sonne (Black Sun) on the dark side of the Moon. This base was to build a powerful invasion fleet and return to take over the Earth once the time was right.
Now it’s 2018, and it’s the time for the first American Moon landing since the 70’s. Meanwhile the Nazi invasion, that has been over 70 years in the making, is on its way, and the world is goose-stepping towards its doom.
Filming is going on now in Germany and the process is documented for you to follow.

Brilliant Texan four-piece Spoon release a new single on November 15 (today!) through Anti- Records. It's not exactly new because it comes off Transference, which was released a little while ago now, but it is still as good as it ever was. We've got the premiere of the video, a bit more of which you can read below.
Here's what the band had to say about it all:
It was pretty easy really. I went to see Eddie Current play at the Cake Shop in New York this past summer and there was this amazing security camera-type shot of the stage that was played behind the bar. The bar's on the same floor as the stage but it's so narrow in there and it was so crowded that the security cam was how a lot of people ended up watching the show.
I was watching it there about half the time. Anyway it looked amazing. I don't know why. So my idea was to just record us doing a show at the Cake Shop on that camera and save it as a document. I got talked into using more cameras but we rented some that were like the one at the Cake Shop. We shot it at noon and just let anybody in who wanted to come. Nice afternoon in New York City.
In August, we spoke to Win Butler of Arcade Fire and he told us that the band was working on a "short film" with director Spike Jonze. "We shot it in Austin and a lot of kids are in the film," he told us, "and it was great just hanging out with these 15-year-olds for a week and writing down all the funny things they said. It was cool to revert to being a 15-year-old for a little while." Today, Arcade Fire posted what would appear to be the result of this collaboration. Check it out below.

In Klaxons' extremely NSFW new video for "Twin Flames", a casual-Friday polymorphous-perverse group makeout session turns into an epically disgusting body horror fantasia that might make David Cronenberg just a little bit queasy. The effect is both kind of hot and incredibly repulsive, and it's enough to remind you how much this band loves William S. Burroughs. You have been warned. If you've got the stomach, watch it below, via the Quietus.

Cast: Olivia Wilde, Harrison Ford, Daniel Craig, Sam Rockwell Director: Jon Favreau 1873. Arizona Territory. A stranger (Craig) with no memory of his past stumbles into the hard desert town of Absolution. The only hint to his history is a mysterious shackle that encircles one wrist. What he discovers is that the people of Absolution don’t welcome strangers, and nobody makes a move on its streets unless ordered to do so by the iron-fisted Colonel Dolarhyde (Ford). It’s a town that lives in fear.
But Absolution is about to experience fear it can scarcely comprehend as the desolate city is attacked by marauders from the sky. Screaming down with breathtaking velocity and blinding lights to abduct the helpless one by one, these monsters challenge everything the residents have ever known.
Now, the stranger they rejected is their only hope for salvation. As this gunslinger slowly starts to remember who he is and where he’s been, he realizes he holds a secret that could give the town a fighting chance against the alien force. With the help of the elusive traveler Ella (Olivia Wilde), he pulls together a posse comprised of former opponents—townsfolk, Dolarhyde and his boys, outlaws and Apache warriors—all in danger of annihilation. United against a common enemy, they will prepare for an epic showdown for survival.

New clip was shot at Hayley Williams' house in Franklin, Tennessee.
Paramore's Brand New Eyes was released nearly 14 months ago, spawned something like five singles, sent the band around the world and went gold in the U.S. All that is the prologue to their new "Playing God" video, which though it never expressly states as much feels very much like the band coming full circle, tying up loose ends and probably putting Eyes to bed for good.
Of course, I'm just speculating about all that. It's entirely possible Paramore may still wring a single or two out of Eyes, but I sort of doubt it. Especially since everything involving the "Playing God" clip, which premiered Tuesday (November 16) on the band's website (and here LOL) seems to suggest otherwise.
It was shot entirely at frontwoman Hayley Williams' house in Franklin, Tennessee, the same house she gave MTV News a tour of last year, in the week leading up to Eyes' release. There are moments, particularly those that feature her bandmates tied up in her basement, a single light bulb dangling over their heads, that recall the video for "Ignorance," which was the first single from the album (and was also shot, in part, at Williams' house). In one scene, Williams can be seen examining old band photos, and in another, she performs in front of the mirrors that not only hang in her guest room, but adorn the back cover of Eyes (they were bought at the Franklin Goodwill, BTW).
The message, at least to me, appears clear: Paramore are returning home, looking back, wrapping things up. "Playing God" is a bittersweet, sentimental thing, a scrapbook of the past year of their lives, and the final chapter in the Brand New Eyes saga. It's a story that began with the band's future severely in doubt and concludes with them stronger, happier and better than ever. So if "God" really is the end of the BNE line, well, then it's a fitting farewell. It's time for the band to turn the page, to move on. It was a heck of an album and a heck of a ride, and I can't wait to see where they go from here.
What did you think of the "Playing God" video? Let us know in the comments!

Hal is a gifted and cocky test pilot, but the Green Lanterns have little respect for humans, who have never harnessed the infinite powers of the ring before. The new trailer for Zack Snyder’s Sucker Punch has arrived!
Damn. Okay, so the basic story is that a girl in a mental hospital escapes from reality to deal with her problems. That the girl imagines all of what you saw in that trailer (if that is indeed the case) makes less than no sense considering that this is set in the 1950s and her dreams appear to be those of a 14 year old boy from the 21st Century. But who cares? I wasn’t THAT sold on this movie prior to this trailer, but guess what? This trailer had a robot being sliced in half with what appears to be a katana. So that’s me officially on board.
Sucker Punch stars Emily Browning, Vanessa Hudgens, Abbie Cornish, Carla Gugino and Jon Hamm. Chances are Christopher Nolan got a look at this movie before handing the next Superman movie over to Snyder, which is a pretty good sign. What do you think?
By the way, if you like what you see you may want to check out the trailer for The Warrior’s Way, It seems to be shooting for a similar vibe:
