Regina Spektor – “How”

Regina Spektor’s recent videos for “All The Rowboats” and “Don’t Leave Me (Ne Me Quitte Pas)” were quirky, fun affairs. But despite flashes of old-timey animation and a scene where she appears to be wearing butterfly wings, Spektor’s new video for the breakup-driven piano-ballad “How” is something else entirely. It’s a calm and sincere moving portrait of Spektor, the camera worshipping at her feet and switching back and forth between lush color and even lusher black-and-white. Margo Weathers directs.
